SHORT BIO

I completed teacher training at Illinois State University with a BS and K-12 certification from the State of Illinois and New York Board of Education. My graduate studies included a Max Beckmann Fellowship Award to the Brooklyn Museum Art School and a MS and MFA in studio art.

I set up and taught in an educational program for women at the Dwight Correctional Center for four years before administering the college education program for men at the Dixon Correctional Center. I served as Chair of Arts & Education at Eureka College and a Professor in their Art Department.

I was President and then Vice-President of the John Wesley Powell Audubon Society, a local chapter of National Audubon. I’m a recipient of the City of Bloomington's Cultural District Commission and twice a Woman of Distinction Nominee, as well as being the founder of and a practicing artist in the downtown Bloomington Studios of Beluga Press Art Gallery. My exhibition record reflects a strong commitment to environmental activism.
